Cause of Death:  Olga had been sick with diarrhea since her last baby was born.  I was treating her with a very bland diet that was high in fiber and Kaopectate.  She seemed to be getting better, but then her little baby died and she got depressed.  I started giving her Pedialyte to keep her from getting dehydrated, but she got weaker and weaker.  The vet said that she was still dehydrated when we took her in late at night.  She didn't have any parasites and nothing else seemed wrong with her.  Later, at home, we gave her more Pedialyte and tried to get her to eat.  Around 11 pm she stopped breathing and passed on.  I had her for 3 1/2 years and she was the smartest, cutest, best chinchilla in the world.  I don't think that I will ever get over losing her.  :(
