Terms of Sale
The purpose of these terms is to protect the buyer and the seller in case of a misunderstanding or unforeseen problem. Each chinchilla buyer signs a copy of these terms of sale before taking possession of any animals. Please read the terms carefully.
Adjustment Period: An adjustment period of one week is given for the buyer to decide if he or she does not wish to keep the animal, the animal may be returned for a full refund of its purchase price. This period may be extended at the discretion of the seller. The animal must be in good health and in the same condition that it was in at the time of purchase.
Refunds after the Adjustment Period has Ended: Animals may be returned up to 3 weeks (one month after purchase) after the adjustment period described above expires, however 20% of the purchase price plus $30.00 (see below term) will be subtracted from the purchase price and the remainder will be given as a refund. Any extension of this 3 week time period is at the discretion of the seller. Any returned animal must be in good health and in the same condition it was in at the time of purchase. If any animal is is returned more than one month (28) after purchase, it is at the discretion of the seller to decide how much of the purchase price to refund the buyer.
Returning Chinchillas: Any animals returned after the one week adjustment period has ended will be taken to a veterinarian for a complete check-up. This will be done at the buyer's expense in the amount of $30.00. This fee may be waived at the discretion of the seller under unique circumstances.
Seller's Liability: If it is found within one month (28 days) after purchase that the buyer has purchased a chinchilla that is ill because of the negligence of the seller, such as illness or defect that is not disclosed at the time of purchase, the buyer may return the animal to the seller for a complete refund of the purchase price plus the cost of obtaining a valid health certificate, up to $40. When the animal is returned to the seller a health certificate, which is written by a qualified veterinarian, documenting the illness(es) or defect(s) must be presented to the seller. No refunds will be given for medical treatments. The buyer must contact the seller before anything is done medically to the animal, if the buyer intends to return the animal.
