Email us at chinnies@azchins.com for shipping costs if you are outside of the Tucson or Phoenix areas. All cages are sent through UPS or FedEx Ground with an approximate shipping cost of $20.00 to $40.00. Buyers are responsible for all shipping fees.

You may consult www.usps.com or www.fedex.com for what it will cost to send the weight of your supplies from the origination zip of 85629 or I will do it for you. I do not charge a handling or packing fee, add one to two pounds for shipping weight. If you email me with your order, I will find the CHEAPEST way to ship your order to save you as much money as possible. I will send an invoice for shipping when you make an order and send an email with the shipping amount due.

I can also make custom cages to suit your needs! Just let me know what you want and I will give you a quote for it. The price for cages ranges from about $45 to $200 depending on size. I will have to get a quote for shipping fees through UPS (for cages only). If a special pan size is needed, I will need approximately two weeks to finish your cage. All other cages can be completely in usually 2 to 4 days.

Please let me know if there is anything else you may need for your chinchillas!! I can manufacter custom shelves out of wire or wood to fit your current cages. Also, we have supplies for all your cage needs if you would like to make your own cages - we have edge guard, clips, pliers, wire, door latches and other things. I can help with any problems that may arise when you are building your cage and offer advice on how to lay out a cage that will be safe and fun for your animals.

Remember that chinchillas are small, accident-prone animals that can get injured from falling from heights greater than about 20 inches. Take extreme care when introducing a chin to his new home. Chins may run into the sides or shelves if they are not used to being in their new environment!

Feed treats in strict moderation. Follow the "ONE A DAY" rule, only one treat per day...no more, no matter how much the chin begs for more.

When switching to a new feed do it as slowly as possible. I like to switch chins over one-fifth at a time. The first week I put one-fifth new food with four-fifths old. Every week I put in 1/5th more food. In about one month the chin is switched over with no problems.

Any toys that I have up for sale that have rope on them have sissal or seasgrass ropes. These are the only ropes I will use with my chins because they are the only ones that I am convinced is safe for chinchillas. Stay away from any toys from any source that have cotton, poly, manilla or other types of rope with soft fibers.
